Werner Melzer

Werner Melzer ( born 2 May 1954 in Clausen ) is a former German football player.

Melzer played from 1974 to 1986 for the 1st FC Kaiserslautern 374 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 31 goals. He is so far the record player in the "Red Devils " from the Palatinate, with whom he reached the final of the DFB - Pokal in 1976 and the DFB Cup 1981. Home club by Werner Melzer was the FK Clausen, with whom he reached the semifinals in 1974 to the German Amateur Championship. After his Bundesliga career at FCK, he returned and settled in the FKC end his career.

After his active playing career Werner Melzer worked as a coach or assistant coach. At the 1st FC Kaiserslautern, he oversaw the amateur team ( 1991-1997 ). Under Klaus Topp Möller, his former teammate at FCK, Werner Melzer was an assistant coach at the 1 FC Saarbrücken and at Hamburger SV. After his co-trainer time in Hamburg Melzer was the District league club FK Clausen coach. The coach office he resigned on November 17, 2009.

As a player, he is active for the FCK team tradition.
