Werner Voigt

Werner Voigt ( born June 26, 1947 in Wildau ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Career as a player

Born in Wildau went through the midfielder Voigt youth teams of the Brandenburg SG Niederlehme and Dynamo King Wusterhausen and the BFC Dynamo. By 1973, Voigt played then as state amateur at BFC, following up in 1975 with the first FC Union Berlin and finally from 1975 to 1976 at Dynamo Fiirstenwalde. Overall Voigt graduated this 18 games in the GDR Oberliga as top tier of the German Democratic Republic.

Career as a coach

After his playing career Voigt was qualified sports teacher and worked as a youth coach and trainer of gambling in the second-class league second team at the BFC Dynamo.

In 1986, Voigt then as coach at FC Hansa Rostock, who was staying in the preseason under Claus Kreul in the league. At Hansa, Voigt reached not only the chances of promotion, but also the way into fdgb Cup final, which went despite interim leadership lost 4-1 against 1 FC Locomotive Leipzig in his first year. In the following season 1987/88 the league Hansa reached under Voigt with a ninth place in the league and qualified 1988/89 with a fourth place for the international UEFA Cup in 1989/90. There Hansa separated already from the first round against Banik Ostrava and finished second in the 1989/90 season in sixth place in the table.

For the last championship round of the GDR in 1990/91, which was regarded as a qualification for the total German Bundesliga, Hansa Voigt replaced by the previously active in West Germany coach Uwe Reinders, who would eventually win the championship and the cup with Rostock, while Voigt instead coach at 1 FC Union Berlin was, with whom he failed as a second division to qualify for the all-German 2nd Bundesliga.

From 1992 to 1994 Voigt was coach of the BSG Stahl Brandenburg. From summer 1996 to spring 1998 Voigt was the coach of the meantime renamed FC BFC Dynamo Berlin, then in the summer of 1998 with Dynamo Dresden, where his work was ended prematurely each.

In July 2004, Voigt coach of the second team of 1 FC Union Berlin, the head coach of the first team, whose previous coach Frank Wormuth was, however, been dismissed after only a few months of activity due to failure in September. Even under Voigt played the team is not successful, which is why he still gave up his office in December 2004.

Since the summer of 2005 to September 2008, Voigt was 47 working as a coach at unterklassigen SV Lichtenberg. He now trains the Köpenick SC.
