West India Company

There were several West India companies:

Danish West India Company ( Vestindisk Kompagni or Det Vestindisk - Guineiske Kompagni ) founded in 1671, dissolved in 1776
French West India Company ( Compagnie des Indes Françaises Occidentales ) founded in 1664
Dutch West India Company ( Geoctroyeerde West India Company ) founded in 1621
Swedish West India Company (Svenska Västindiska Kompaniet ), founded in 1786
