Ball Mountain Lake and Ball Mountain Dam

The West River is a right tributary of the Connecticut River in the south of the U.S. state of Vermont.

The West River rises south of Mount Holly in the Green Mountains. From there it flows past in a southerly direction to Londonderry. Further down are located along the river, the reservoir Ball Mountain Lake, the Jamaica State Park, the place Jamaica, and another dam, the Townshend Lake. The West River turns it gradually to the southeast. Later, he takes on the Rock River from the right, before he finally flows north of Brattleboro in the Connecticut River.
