Westerglen transmitting station

The transmitter is a transmitter system at Westerglen Westerglen Farm, 3 km south-west of Falkirk, a town about 50 kilometers south-east of Glasgow.

Near Westerglen is since 1932 a transmission system for medium wave. From Westerglen of four radio programs are radiated in the medium-wave band ( transmission frequencies: 810 kHz, 909 kHz, 1089 kHz and 1215 kHz) for which three guyed come to earth insulated steel framework masts as transmitting antennas are used.

A fourth mast of 152 meters was built in 1980. He serves the long-wave transmitter on the frequency 198 kHz, who works with the transmitters in Droitwich and Burghead in the simulcast as a transmitting antenna. He is a guyed steel truss structure with a triangular cross-section and at its tip to its electrical extension a top capacity.
