River course

The Westerholter Bach produced in the Senne just on the boundary of Oerlinghausen as an outflow of a pond north of Stukenbrock. This pond is also crossed by the Schnakenbach, also receives inflow of an unnamed body of water and is called the Hirsch sources.

Differences in the classification

Some cards follow the assumption that it is the continuation of the Westerholter creek during part of the gnats stream between its headwaters and deer sources. Even the name of this area traversed by Schnakenbach nature reserve " dry valleys, box valleys and dunes of the upper Westerholter stream " refers to that interpretation. However, the official geodata material not used this system.
