Widryny

Widryny ( German Widrinnen ) is a village in Poland in the Warmia - Mazury. It belongs to the municipality Reszel ( Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński.

Geography

Widryny is located in north-eastern Poland, 40 kilometers south of the border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast. To the north lie the lakes Jezioro Widryńskie and Jezioro Legińskie, southwest of Jezioro Trzcinno.

History

1378 put the owner of the surrounding estates at the site of the present Widryny located on an area of ​​10 hooves on. 1563 lived in the village, both German and Poland, in 1693 only Poland. 1820 there were 22 residential buildings in the village. 1837 opened the village school. 1945, at the end of the Second World War, the Red Army marched into the area. As a result of the war was Widrinnen Widryny as part of the People's Republic of Poland. In 1973, the mayor's office Widryny to which the villages Grzybowo Pasterzewo, Spigiel and Śpiglówka belong to the municipality of Reszel. In 1975, a building was erected for a retail store, 1976, a eight-year elementary school was operated in Widryny.
