Wielopolski family

Wielopolski is the name of a Polish noble family, which belonged to the Crest Community Starykoń. The female form of the name is Wielopolska.

The Wielopolskis belonged to the time of Poland-Lithuania to magnate status, ie the Polish-Lithuanian nobility. In the 17th and 18th centuries they held many public offices, so they were very influential and wealthy. They possessed considerable lands and cities, including Pinczów. The father of the dynasty applies Kasper Wielopolski († 1636), whose son Jan Wielopolski the Elder ( † 1668), for the family to Reichsgraf title of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation acquired 1656. They connected with the passage of time in wedlock with other noble families of the kingdom, for example, the Lubomirski, Jabłonowski or Potocki.

The noble family of those Wielopolski exists in the male line to the present day.
