Jan Wielopolski

January Wielopolski (* 1630, † February 15, 1688 ) was a Polish aristocrat, civil servant, politician and Imperial Count of the Holy Roman Empire.

Life

January Wielopolski was the son of the castellan and voivode January Wielopolski from the same noble family and Zofia Kochanowska. He was married off first with Aniela Febronia Koniecpolska and from 1665 with Konstancja Krystina Komorowska. His third wife, Anne de la Grande d' Arquien, he married in July 1678 in Lviv.

He was bread of the Crown (Polish Stolnik koronny ) in 1664, Starosta of Kraków from 1667, Vice-Chancellor of the Polish crown from 1677 and 1678 at Grand Chancellor itself In addition, he held the post of Starosta for Biecz, Bochnia, Nowy Targ and Dolina.

His education was Wielopolski in Krakow and Strasbourg. From 1661 he was a permanent deputy of the province of Lesser Poland in the Sejm. He supported King John II Casimir of a Vivente Rege - wanted to introduce regulation. This stipulated that the successor of the king was not chosen during his lifetime, instead of after the death of the old king. This would have allowed the king to influence and bestowed on him the more power the choice of his successor.

Wielopolski was Marshal of the Sejm impairment from February 20 to May 1, 1662 in Warsaw. Towards the end of his life he was in opposition to the then monarch, John III. Sobieski. He could the prosperity and power of his family multiply life sent. His marriage with Konstancja Krystyna Komorowska summoned his descendants large possessions for Wielopolski family.
