Wiener Werkstattpreis
The Vienna Workshop Prize for Literature was established in 1992 and has been held annually since 2000. By 2005, there existed a parallel competition in the field of photography. The basic idea of the competition is to encourage young and lesser known authors.
The ALCP workshop price was originally a pure short fiction competition and has been offered for short prose and poetry since 2007. The prize money is EUR 800, -. The grand prize also includes actions providing for a single publication in fza publisher.
The now run parallel Viennese Workshop Award is supported by the public sector (Austrian Federal Chancellery / Arts Division and the City of Vienna ) and takes place in cooperation with the fza publisher. The prize was awarded for the categories of short stories, essays, and poetry 2007/2008 and is endowed with a total EUR 1,100.
