Wierzchlas, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Wierzchlas ( German Falkenwalde ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. He lies today in the Gmina Mieszkowice (municipality Bärwalde ) and, with this to Gryfiński powiat ( county Greifenhagen ).

Geography

Wierzchlas is located on the DK 31, 5 km north of the nucleus of Mieszkowice and 13 km from the south-west running border with Germany.

History

Before 1945 Falkenwalde formed a rural municipality in the district of Königsberg Nm. the Prussian province of Brandenburg. Falkenwalde counted in 1933 288 inhabitants, in the year 1939 275 inhabitants. Since 1945 the place belonged to Poland.
