Wilde Kreuzspitze

Wild Kreuzspitze from the south in Virginia Lake

The Wild Kreuzspitze ( 3135 m slm ) is a powerful twin peaks between mean Pfitschtal and Wilder lake in South Tyrol (Italy). She is the main peaks of the mountains Pfunderer, a subgroup of the Zillertal Alps. The summit cross borne by the lower East summit ( 3132 m).

The summit was probably climbed early on by locals, but in any event in the national survey of Tyrol. As the first tourist reached on July 30, 1861 A. v. Ruthner, accompanied by the farmers Perterer as a mountain guide, the summit of the north-west from the valley of Burgumer Bach and a now defunct addition to the dip of the two peaks.

Marked paths lead from the north-west of the Sterzinger hut ( 2344 m), from the Brixner Hut ( 2,307 m ) via the Rauhtaljoch and the East Ridge and from the south via the Senge saddle to the summit.
