Wilfried Sanou

Wilfried Sanou ( born March 16, 1984 in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso ) is a Burkina Faso football player. He currently plays in the second division in Japan to Kyoto Sanga. The striker also represents his home country.

Club career

Youth

Sanou played the last years of his youth in the Burkinabe Football Academy Planète Champion International in Ouagadougou. In this football school in the Burkinabe capital, also the former Bundesliga player Jonathan Pitroipa was formed.

Austria and Switzerland

In the summer of 2001 Sanou moved to Austria to WSG Swarovski Wattens. After a stopover at FC Tirol Innsbruck of Burkinabe changed in the summer of 2002 to FC Sion in Switzerland.

SC Freiburg

His first contract in the German Bundesliga was offered to him in June 2003 at SC Freiburg. The 1.65 meter tall striker was in his first season used 24 times and scoring three goals. In his second season, he rose to the SC from the Second Bundesliga. It ran personally for Sanou not particularly good; Coach Volker Finke let the attacker only seventeen times from the start to play, he scored two goals in a total of 22 missions. 1 FC Köln

In summer 2008, he moved free transfer to newly promoted Bundesliga 1 FC Cologne. There he signed a two -year contract. At the Cologne he could have a hard time and not promoted to a regular player.

On 25 January 2010 it was announced that Sanou extended his existing contract until 30 June 2010 for one year, at the same time he was loaned until the end of the Urawa Red Diamonds. In the J-League, he was in 26 games on the pitch, scoring two goals.

From 1 January 2011 until the end of August 2011, he was back in the squad of Cologne. He no longer received a contract extension then, however. Therefore, he was out of contract in July 2011.

Kyoto Sanga

On April 26, 2012 Sanou signed for a multi-week trial into a contract with the Japanese second division club Kyoto Sanga.

National

Wilfried Sanou played at the Junior World Championship 2003 for Burkina Faso, before he was called to the national team of his country, for whom he made ​​his debut on 9 October 2010 in the game against Gambia, as he, after 70 minutes for Aristide Bance were loaded.
