Wilhelm Burgsmüller

William Castle Müller ( born January 18, 1932 in Dortmund ) is a former German football player.

Career

Prior to his career Burgsmüller learned the trade of carpenter. The right-back Willisburg Müller played from 1951 to 1964 with Borussia Dortmund. In youth he had previously played with Westfalia Huckarde in the county class. 1956 and 1957 he won with the Borussia twice the German championship. At the end of his career he was able in 1963 to add a third championship, this time as captain of the team. He was next to the only Jockel Bracht Borussia player who stood for all three championships in the final team. In the season 1963/64, Burgsmüller still belonged to the Bundesliga squad of Borussia Dortmund and graduated 19 Bundesliga games ( no goals ). An intended by national coach Sepp Herberger in the fall of 1956 using the national team failed a severe meniscus injury castle miller. In 1965 Burgsmüller was after an ankle injury to disability sport.

After the career

Burgsmüller was after his career magazine manager at Stadtwerke Dortmund. Until 1991 Burgsmüller played in the tradition of the BVB team. Today Willisburg Müller is a member of the Council of Elders of Borussia Dortmund.

Worth mentioning

Willisburg Müller is neither related nor related by its namesake Manfred Burgsmüller who also played for Borussia.

Special recognition gained a photo of Burgsmüller, as he held after the third championship in 1963 with a blood-soaked bandage on his head the championship trophy. Reason was a head laceration, which he had contracted during the game in a challenge.

Burgsmüller is married and lives with his wife in Dortmund.
