Wilhelm Cohn

William Cohn ( born February 6, 1859 in Berlin, † August 17 1913 in Charlottenburg ) was a German chess master.

Cohn was a professional player and participated in a number of major tournaments. He scored at the 11th Congress of the German Chess Federation in Cologne in 1898, where he shared the second place with Rudolf and Mikhail Chigorin Charousek His best result. A year later, he took part in the big tournament from London and shared 10th place with 11 and former world champion Wilhelm Steinitz. 1900 in Munich, he finished sixth. 1902 in Hanover, he landed while in the back of the field, but he beat the world class player Harry Nelson Pillsbury. 1905 B tournament of Barmen he finished third.

He played two matches, he lost both: in Berlin in 1894 against Carl August Walbrodt with 0:5 and 1910, also in Berlin against Ehrhardt post with 4,5:7,5 ( 3, -6, = 3).
