Wilhelm Lanzky-Otto

Lanzky Wilhelm Otto ( * January 30, 1909, † 13 April 1991) was a Danish horn player and professor at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

Life

Lanzky -Otto began playing the piano at the age of five years, and he later took lessons on the violin and the organ. In addition, he received intensive training in music theory. He was from 1936 to 1945 principal horn in the Danish Radio Orchestra. After that he worked in the same position in the Stockholm Philharmonic. In addition to his orchestral duties, he was a professor at the State Academy of Music in Stockholm, where he later founded the so-called " Lanzky School ", which influenced many horn players in Scandinavia. Student of Lanzky -Otto were later even famous horn player, so Frøydis Ree Wekre, Soren Hermansson, James McDonald ( horn ) and his son Ib Lanzky gasoline.
