Wilhelm Philipp Daniel Schlich

William Schlich ( born February 28, 1840 in Flonheim when William Schlich, † September 28, 1925 in Oxford, England ) was a German - British forest scientist.

Life

Schlich attended high school in Darmstadt and studied in Giessen. In 1860 he became a member of the Corps Hassia, 1866, he entered the service of the Indian Forest Department. Schlich 1871 Conservator and in 1881 the Inspector General of Forestry in the Indian government. In England he was one of the pioneers of forest science. He founded the first school in Cooper 's Hill, who came to Oxford in 1905. In the same year Schlich was a professor of forest science.
