William Allen Sipe

William Allen Sipe (* July 1, 1844 in Harrisonville, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, † September 10, 1935 in San Diego, California ) was an American politician. Between 1892 and 1895 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Sipe attended the public schools of his home and then the Cassville Academy. In 1862 he joined during the civil war in the army of the Union. That same year, he had to acknowledge his military service after an injury. After a subsequent law degree in 1865 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he started in Huntingdon to work in this profession. In January 1867 he moved to Indianapolis, and in December 1868 Pittsburgh. In both cities, he practiced as a lawyer. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career.

After the death of Mr Alexander Kerr Craig Sipe was at the due election for the 24 seats of Pennsylvania as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 5 December 1892. After a re-election, he could remain until March 3, 1895 Congress. In 1894 he was not re-affirmed.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives William Sipe was up again in 1921 as an attorney in Pittsburgh. Then he withdrew into retirement, which he spent in San Diego. He is also passed on 10 September 1935 at the age of 91 years. He was buried in Pittsburgh.
