William Baziotes

William Baziotes ( born June 11, 1912 in Pittsburgh, † June 6, 1963 in New York ) was an American painter and a representative of abstract expressionism.

Life

Baziotes studied from 1933 to 1936 at the National Academy of Design in New York. From the early fifties he developed the characteristic of his style of underwater landscapes that were populated by very few animals and plants. In 1959 was Baziotes participated in documenta 2 in Kassel, in the area of ​​painting.
