William C. Faure

William C. Faure ( born July 17, 1949 and † 18 October 1994 Johannesburg, South Africa) was a South African film director and screenwriter.

Life

William C. Faure was known for his television mini-series Shaka Zulu from 1986 worldwide. It tells of the rise and fall of the Zulu king, having it in the early 19th century almost managed to British colonists in the takeover of his tribal area to prevent. Faure began his work as a director, after he had first attended a film school in England and worked in the early 1970s for the South African Broadcasting Corporation. During this time, Faure was involved in the production of The Dinleys, one of the first soap opera in Süfafrika. In the 90 years Faure also initiated several Miss South Africa and Miss World competitions.

He died on 18 October 1994 in Johannesburg from kidney failure.
