William Gordon Burn-Murdoch

William Gordon Burn Murdoch (* 1862, † July 19, 1939 in Edinburgh) was a Scottish painter, lithographer, sculptor and travel writer.

Life and works

Burn - Murdoch attended the Edinburgh Art School and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp under Charles Verlat; in Paris, he was a student of Emile Auguste Carolus -Duran. Furthermore, he studied in Florence, Naples and Madrid. 1892-1893 he took as an artist with his friend William Speirs Bruce on the Dundee Whaling Expedition to Antarctica in part. Later he traveled to India, China and Greenland.
