William H. Potstock
William Herman Potstock, actually Wilhelm Hermann Potstock (* 1872 in Northern Germany, † 1941 in Chicago ) was a German - American musician and composer. His most famous work is Souvenir de Sarasate.
Life
Potstock emigrated in 1881 as a child with his family via Bremen to the United States. He lived and worked as a freelance music teacher and musician in Chicago. In 1895 he married Martha Bock, the couple had two children: Stella ( * 1896) and Eugene ( * 1901 in Chicago, † 1979 in Wisconsin). His daughter Stella was also a musician.
