William I, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg

William I, Duke of Brunswick -Wolfenbüttel (* 1270, † September 30, 1292 in Braunschweig) was a son of Albrecht I Duke of Brunswick and Adelaide de Montferrat.

Life

William was born as the third son of Duke Albrecht 's and his second wife Adelheid ( Alessina, † 1285), daughter of the Marquis Boniface of Montferrat. When the father died on August 15, 1279 he left six sons and one daughter ( † 1318 Mechthild ). Three sons Konrad ( † around 1303), Otto ( † around 1346 ) and Lothar ( 1275-1335 ) received a spiritual formation.
