William II, Marquis of Namur

Wilhelm II (* January 22, 1355; † January 10, 1418 ) was Count of Namur 1391-1418.

Life

Wilhelm II was born in 1355 as the eldest son of Count William I of the House of Dampierre and Catherine of Savoy. 1384 he married Mary bar, a daughter of Duke Robert I from the Lorraine House Scarponnois and Maria of France (a subsidiary of King John II ); The marriage remained childless. In 1391 he inherited when his father died, the county of Namur. 1393, after Mary's death, he married Jeanne d' Harcourt (* 1372, † February 16, 1456 ) from the Norman house Harcourt, daughter of Jean III, Comte d' Harcourt et d' Aumale, and Catherine de Bourbon ( one daughter. the Duke Pierre I de Bourbon ). From this marriage William had an unnamed son, who died as a small child.
