William Louis, Duke of Württemberg
Wilhelm Ludwig ( born January 7, 1647 in Stuttgart, † June 23, 1677 in Hirsau ) was from 1674 to 1677, the ninth Duke of Württemberg.
Life
Wilhelm Ludwig is the ninth child of Duke Eberhard III. of Württemberg ( Württemberg house ) and his first wife Anna Katharina Dorothea von Salm- Kyrburg.
He married on November 6, 1673 in Darmstadt Magdalena Sibylla of Hesse- Darmstadt, with whom he had the following children:
- Eleonore Dorothea (* 1674, † 1683)
- Eberhardine Louise (* 1675, † 1707)
- Eberhard Ludwig (1676-1733), Duke of Württemberg
- Magdalene Wilhelmine (* November 7, 1677, † October 30, 1742 ), married to Karl Wilhelm of Baden- Durlach
At the age of 30 years, the Duke died completely by surprise with a beach holiday in Hirsau castle. His 25 - year-old widow Magdalena Sibylla took over the regency of Württemberg from 1677 until her son Eberhard Ludwig was 1693 16- year succeed to the throne.
