William Sears (physician)

William Sears ( born December 9, 1939 in Alton, Illinois) is an American doctor of pediatrics.

Sears is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine. He has (about: Education through affection ) with his wife Martha, a trained nurse, the education philosophy Attachment Parenting coined.

After graduating, he continued his education at Children's Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He appeared in many American television shows as Dr. Bill, such as Oprah Winfrey, Good Morning America or CBS This Morning. It was and he is invited on the topics parenting and attachment parenting. He is also a consultant for medical and education in the magazines Baby Talk and Parenting, as well as the attending pediatrician of the website Parenting.com.

1997 Sears underwent colon cancer surgery followed by radiation and chemotherapy.

William and Martha Sears are the parents of eight children, one of which has Down syndrome. Three sons are already even doctors, a fourth son is currently studying medicine at the University of California, Irvine. With the approved sons Sears runs a private practice in San Clemente, California, where he still lives.
