William Sprague (1609–1675)

William Sprague (* October 1609 in Upwey, Dorsetshire, England; † October 26, 1675 ) was an American settlers from the 17th century. He left England on the Lyon 's Whelp (ship ) toward Plymouth / Salem, Massachusetts. Together with his two brothers, Ralph and Richard, he helped to found the city of Charleston, Massachusetts. Other members of the family were soldiers in the Revolutionary War and two of them were governors of the State of Rhode Iceland. William was married to Millicent Eames and the couple had eleven children together.

Lucille Ball and her Brunder, Fred Ball, were direct descendants.
