William Sylvester
William Sylvester ( born January 31, 1922 in Oakland, California, USA, † January 25, 1995 in Butte County, California ) was an American television and film actor, who much of his career in the UK spent. The best-known role that Sylvester has played was that of Dr. Heywood Floyd in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. He also appeared as a German officer at the beginning of the film The Hindenburg (1975). Otherwise, he has mainly appeared in low-budget productions.
