William Teron

William (Bill) Teron, OC ( born 1932 in Gardenton ) is a Canadian real estate business man who is known as the "Father of Kanata ".

History

William Teron was born in 1932 in Gardenton, Manitoba. When he was 18 years old he moved to Ottawa and founded his own company " Golden Ridge Developments Ltd ". He is responsible for the two suburbs projects in the Ottawa area.

  • He walked Bells Corners in a " garden suburb ". Prior to the construction of residential areas it was called in the early 60s Lynwood Park and Arbeatha Park.
  • Above all, he was known by the construction of the city of Kanata, where once there was only the green area of the metropolitan area March.

From 1973 to 1979 he was Managing Director and President of the "Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation " ( CMHC ). He is also the founder of " Teron International Building Technologies ".

In 1982 he was awarded an Officer of the Order of Canada.
