William Wilson Potter

William Wilson Potter ( born December 18, 1792 in Potters Mills, Centre County, Pennsylvania, † October 28, 1839 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1837 and 1839 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Potter attended the public schools in Bellefonte and then completed the Dickinson College in Carlisle. After a subsequent law degree in 1814 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. Politically, he later joined the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1836 Potter was in the 14th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Joseph Henderson on March 4, 1837. After a re-election, he could remain until his death on October 28, 1839 in Congress.
