Willie Doherty
Willie Doherty ( born 1959 in Derry, Northern Ireland) is an Irish artist ( photography, video and sound installation ).
Life
As a child, is Doherty witnessed the Bloody Sunday. His later works deal with the conflict in Northern Ireland. From 1978 to 1981 he studied at the Ulster Polytechnic, Belfast. In 1999, he was a DAAD scholarship in Berlin.
Prices
In 1995 Doherty the Irish Museum of Modern Art Glen Dimplex Artists Award. 1994 and 2003 he was nominated for the Turner Prize.
Work
Doherty designs in his video works, political and aesthetic images of Ireland.
