Willie Norwood

Willie Norwood ( born September 15, 1955 in Carson, California, United States Willie Raymond Norwood, Sr.) is an American gospel singer and vocal coach.

Curriculum vitae

Willie Norwood began in the early 1970s to work as a musician. He was the lead singer of the group "The Composers ". The band, with which he had moved to Hollywood, Los Angeles, worked as an opening act for, among others, Chaka Khan, Rufus and Lou Rawls and enjoyed regional popularity. End of the 70 he moved with his wife Sonja Bates - Norwood, as these became pregnant with daughter Brandy Norwood. Two years later came the second child of William Raymond Norwood, Jr.. Them he was in his early childhood singing lessons. Early 1990 succeeded his two children, the breakthrough as a singer and actor and also Norwood's career thus received a boost. He was 1997 Vocal Consultant by Janet Jackson album The Velvet Rope and received 2001 his first solo contract with the record company Atlantic Records and released his debut album Bout It, which contains, among other collaborations with the family members Brandy and Ray J as well as with singer Billy Preston. The album was nominated for a Gospel Music Association Dove Award. In addition, the album reached number 13 on the Billboard Gospel charts. Followed in 2006 his second CD I Believe under the label Knockout Entertainment. The album had no notable success. Currently he works as a vocal coach and singing teacher; well as that of his children Ray J and Brandy.
