Willy Goldberger

William ' Willy ' Goldberger ( born July 25, 1898 in Berlin, † 20th century probably in Spain ) was a German-born cameraman for German and European film.

Life and work

William ' Willy ' Goldberger began in 1915 for the BB movie by Heinrich Bolten - Baeckers. After his military service 1917/18 Goldberger was in the twenties, a sought-after cameraman for German film. He usually turned comedies, melodramas rare. At the beginning of the sound era, he often stood in operetta-like music films Géza von Bolvárys behind the camera.

After the seizure of power by the National Socialists in 1933 emigrated Jewish origins, Goldberger and lived in the next six years alternately in nine countries. He found plenty of work as a cinematographer, most recently from December 1936 to December 1937 in Sweden.
