Wim van de Camp

Wilhelmus Gerardus Johannes Maria " Wim " van de Camp ( born July 27, 1953 in Oss, Netherlands) is a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratisch Appèl (CDA ). Since 2009, van de Camp is member of the European Parliament.

Life

After leaving school at the agricultural school in Deventer van de Camp studied law at the Radboud University Nijmegen in Nijmegen, where he graduated in 1982. After studying van de Camp was employed by the Association of Dutch Municipalities. Furthermore, van de Camp engaged politically and became a member of the Christian Democratisch Appèl. 1986 he succeeded in gaining as a deputy in the Second Chamber of the States General. In the following parliamentary elections van de Camp were each re-elected and belonged to the Dutch House of Commons until 2009 for 23 years (only the Dutch MEP Bas van der Vlies was longer a member). Since 2009, van de Camp Europe member of parliament for the CDA. Van de Camp is Roman Catholic and lives openly homosexual in The Hague.

Activities as an MEP

Van de Camp is a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China. As a deputy, he is the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection, the Subcommittee on Human Rights, the Special Committee on organized crime, corruption and money laundering, in the Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo
