Geography

Source and course

The Windischenbach arises at the northern slope of the mountains of the Keuper Mainhardter forest to Hohenlohe plain. The municipal area of Pfedelbach it rises about 2.5 km southwest of the center of the central location on 326 m above sea level. NN top of the forested wood blade.

With this blade the stream running, quickly eintiefend, to the north and reached after half a kilometer border with the open hallway. Links lies in a grassy hollow, over which fruit trees to pull up the gentle slope to the west, Pfedelbach Klingenhof, beside the brook runs through a more than 0.1 -acre pond while on the right bank, the lower limit of the forest on steep castle hill the stream another half a kilometer below.

Then the Windischenbach dissolves from the forest and goes, accompanied by a dense bank of wood gallery, in a curve to the northeast, where he once again touched briefly on the right an isolated and swampy hillside forest below into the residence courtyard. The now less prominent right edge height of Wolfsbühls, Northeast foothills of Castle Hill, follows the creek continues almost to Windischbacher cemetery, the valley is on this section noticeably wider and the water flows end up back in a northerly direction. Little after the cemetery of Bach reached the southern outskirts of Windischenbach where a except at the lowest running unstable water-bearing ditch of about 1.2 km in length leads from the left. In the village, then the Windischenbach runs underground piped under the creek road here soon it flows by another of equal long inlet from the west to which may arise between Lindelberg in the south and Golberg in the north and along a field path through the blade box in a ditch flows.

Even in the industrial area on the northern edge Windisch Bach he turns back to the northeast, in turn, is fed by a volatile influx of about 0.8 km in length from left, reaches in the Golberghöfe, and then leaves village and municipality Pfedelbach, soon accompanied by a row of trees in a narrow green strip between fields on the slope right and left. At the southern edge development Öhringen he takes again two unstable water-bearing dirt road ditch from the left and right and then opens at the commercial area around the Steinsfeldle from the left after a run of 3.7 km to about 224 m above sea level. NN in the Pfedelbach.

Catchment area

The Windischenbach has a catchment area of about 5.0 km ², which is bordered to the west by the middle of Brettach and on the east by that of the receiving Pfedelbachs. From the mouth of the north- east the watershed extending to the south close to the eastern end Windisch Bach's passing, on a dirt road on the western slope of the Wolfsbühls, up to the spur of the castle hill and then between wood blade and Lohklinge by the Buchenhau continue until the onset of the hallway. Here it turns west and before the close of waste into Brettachtal to the northwest and runs over the wooded plain. Just east of the Red crate she gets the Bergkanmm down, happens Stöckig and the glans stockpile in the east and then overcomes transversely to the direction the Lindelberg in the East, Then it switches over to the northeast withdrawing ridgeline of Golbergs and reached on the eastern Öhringer Verrenberg their north-westerly point. From this she draws from in eastern run back to the mouth.

At the creek are just the Klingenhof, Windischenbach and a part of the touched at the mouth of the business park in the south Öhringer. In another catchment area or White Lens Mount (left side of the valley opposite the Castle Hill ), the courtyard are ( right under the Castle Hill Crest in the transition to Wolfsbühl ) Lindelberg ( on the Ostsporn the homonymous mount ) and the Golberghöfe (east of Golberg - foot ); these are all on Pfedelbach district. On Öhringer still is added an evacuee in Scherer reason.

Geology

The course of Windisch Bach is located entirely in the Keuper. It rises in the Lower Colorful marls ( Steigerwald Formation) of the wood blade, cuts into her quickly narrow band of Schilfsandstein ( Stuttgart Formation ) and then stays to its mouth in the Gipskeuper ( grave field formation ).

The catchment area begins further south and higher in pebble sandstone ( Hassberge Formation) on the plateau to Buchhornplatz that both sides of the wood blade up to the spurs of Castle Hill to the east and the left blade " cheek " to the south of Stöckig extends. This rather broad, Castle Hill is less wide preceded by a Verebnungsfläche in Schilfsandstein, such areas also cover the Lindelberg and Golberg. The larger remaining part of the catchment area is located in the Gipskeuper, the superimposed mainly on the lower slopes in the lower half of the barrel loess.
