Winonaite

Winonaite belong to the class of primitive achondrites ( meteorites ) and are fine-grained, consisting mainly of pyroxene and high-magnesium olivine, troilite and nickel-iron metal extraterrestrial rocks. The chemistry and the oxygen isotope ratio set Winonaite related to silicate inclusions in IAB iron meteorites of class. Both probably originate from a differentiated asteroid that was destroyed when the iron core and the silicate- rich crust formed out.

The most famous and at the same time Winonait namesake of the whole class is that of Winona (Arizona ) in the United States. He was found in 1928 during the excavation of ruins of the Sinagua culture in Elden Pueblo and served apparently as a cult object.
