Winston Western 500
Riverside 500 (1963)
The Winston Western 500 was a race in the NASCAR Winston Cup, which took place from 1958 to 1987 at the Riverside International Raceway. From 1965 to 1981, was held in January at the beginning of the season and from 1981 to 1987 in November at the end of the season. In 1981, as the date was moved to November, there were two races named " Winston Western 500 " instead. By the year 1977, the race distance was 500 miles before it was shortened to 311 miles. It was next to the Budweiser 400, the second race at the Riverside International Raceway.
