Wissam al-Hassan

Wissam al -Hassan Adnan (Arabic وسام عدنان الحسن, DMG Wissam al - Ḥasan ʿ Adnan, born April 11, 1965 in Btouratige, North Lebanon; † 19 October 2012 in Beirut ) was a Lebanese brigadier general and intelligence chief.

Life

Al -Hassan was raised in a Sunni family in northern Lebanon. His wife and two children lived in France.

On 19 October 2012, he was assassinated by a car bomb in Beirut.

Military career

Al -Hassan from 2001 was security chief of the Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was killed in a bomb attack in 2005.

In 2006, he was promoted by his son Saad Hariri, chief of the Lebanese intelligence service.
