Witchcraft is a song by electronica band Pendulum from their number-one album Immersion. It was first released on iTunes on 16 July 2010. Witchcraft was written and produced by Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen and has a length of 4 minutes and 12 seconds.

Background

Only two days before the final version of the album, it was clear the song was recorded. Swire told the British tabloid The Sun that her manager had stated that it would be their second single from her album, but would have been there at that time neither melody nor vocals. So they said to themselves. " Ok, if that is the second single - let us damn it behind us bring " Gareth McGrillen told Noisecreep that there would have been 16 versions of the song and that the song was one of his favorites would be.

Charts

Witchcraft reached the British charts. It grew on 5 June 2010 at number 62 on the charts and had then already left the Top 75, but the single was able to achieve a re-entry at number 67 on 24 July 2010. In the next week then succeeded the maximum placement, place 29 Witchcraft had been a total of seven weeks in the top 75.

Criticism

The song received mostly positive reviews. Ruth Franciszka Wallbank Red Hot Velvet gave the song four stars, for example, said Dara Hickey on Unreality Shout that Pendulum would be removed with "Witchcraft " from the mainstream because of the song "she" was too much. He forgave 4.5 out of five stars. Even Sheryl Willis of allgigs.co.uk awarded four stars.
