Immersion is the third studio album by British- Australian drum and bass band Pendulum. It was published in the German-speaking area on 4 June 2010 at Warner, and was the last album before the dissolution in 2012.

Creation and publication

The work began in 2008 after the publication of the previous studio album, In Silico. By 2010, the songs were composed and recorded for the album. As a supporting performer, the Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames Self Vs Self for the song as well as the British musician Steven Wilson was Liam Howlett of The Prodigy for the song Immunize, brought for the song The Fountain. The album was completed in April 2010, and then mastered by Brian Gardner in Los Angeles.

The album was released in Germany on 4 June 2010, already 2 May 2010 appeared Watercolour as a first single.

Reception

By music critics, the album was recorded mixed. Metascore assigns a rating of 63 % based on ten reviews and thus the predicate "generally favorable" (Eng. " generally positive ").

A very positive evaluation received the album from the British BBC. Critic Mike Diver says that immersion was the best Pendulum album so far and almost approach come to the live performances of the band.

With three out of five stars by Allmusic the album received an average rating. Critic Andy Kellman called immersion as a combination of the two previous albums, making it hardly give something new.

The German press expressed less positive about immersion. So Mathias Möller awards for Laut.de two out of five stars. In his opinion, was immersion " quite a handle in the toilet ", as the band over draw in favor of the market to the customer.

Also Harald Jacob of Plattentests.de rated the album two out of ten negative. He thinks that everything Pendulum zusammenmixe what was " just trendy" which are served all stereotypes.
