The Woblitz between Haussee and Big Lychensee

The Woblitz (of Voblica, Slavic small Havel ) is a left tributary of the Havel in Brandenburg ( Germany ). It is also the natural flow of Lychener chain of lakes.

Description

Your above-ground catchment area may extend to the Feldberg lakes under certain storage conditions. It flows through, among others, the Great Lychensee west of Lychen, east of Himmelpfortgrund the Haussee ( 1299 called Stagnum Wublitz ) and reached after passing the Himmelpforter lock with the inlet to the Stolpsee the waters of the Havel at OHW - km 54.84.

Already in the 18th century, the Woblitz been transformed into a raft channel. Between 1879 and 1882 the river to make it navigable for Finowmaßkähne to 220 t ( Lychener channel ) has been expanded. For this purpose, the natural outflow of the lake house was north created a trench with the lock Himmelpfortgrund.

The Woblitz is part of a good 8 km of federal waterway Lychener waters ( LYG ) of the waterway of class I Lychen to Himmelpfortgrund, a tributaries of the Upper Havel Waterway ( OHW ). Responsible is the Waterways and Shipping Office Eberswalde.
