Wolfgang Altmann

Wolfgang Altmann ( born September 22, 1952 in Markranstadt ) is a former German football player. He played in the DDR - Oberliga, the highest football league in the GDR, for the first FC Locomotive Leipzig, with whom he three times the GDR football trophy won. Altmann is a multiple junior and junior national team.

Sports career

Wolfgang Altmann began playing football in 1960 by the Sports Association (SPA) turbine Markranstadt. From there he moved in 1969 to BSG Chemie Leipzig, where he played in the junior league. From 1970, he belonged to the squad of the GDR national junior team. His first junior international game he played on October 7, 1970 against the Soviet Union ( 0-0). Between 1970 and 1971 he was employed in 13 international matches of the junior selection, in which he played both in the midfield and in defense.

For the 1971/72 season Altmann was delegated to Leipzig's top club 1.FC locomotive. After his first game in the big leagues on September 4, 1971 BFC Dynamo - 1.FC Lok (3:0 ), he sometimes had already held a regular place with the middle of the league team in the rest of the season and came to a total of 18 points stakes. From November 1972 to Altmann was a fixture in the middle of the 1st FC Lok. In April 1972, he had completed his first of eleven junior internationals he played until 1974. After completing his military service Altmann was from the 1980/81 season up again as a regular player in the league team of the 1st FC Lok. The end of the season earned him his first major success. On 7 June 1981 he was in the final of the East German soccer cup, the Altmann as a midfielder won the Leipzig 4-1 on Vorwärts Frankfurt. Could Twice Altmann repeat this triumph, on 31 May 1986 in a 5-1 over the first FC Union Berlin, where he scored the 1-0, and on 13 June 1987, a 4-1 win over the Leipzig Hansa Rostock. In 1987, Altmann end to DDR -division club TSG Markham, for which he was active until 1990. Even after the end of his football player career, he engaged in further Markkleeberger football. In succession club TSG, the Kickers 94 Markham, he was assistant coach of the 2009 first men's team.
