Wolfgang Sandhowe

Wolfgang Sand Howe ( born December 14, 1953 in Mountain Ash ) is a former German football player and current football coach. He coached last 1.FC Magdeburg.

Career as a player

Although Sandhowe grew up near Münster and has played in the surrounding clubs, he was discovered not by Preußen Münster, but by the then second division side KSV Baunatal in 1978. After their relegation in 1979 he moved to FSV Frankfurt and after only one year to Preußen Münster to achieve qualification for the single-track 2 Bundesliga with Munster. In these three years Sandhowe played 105 matches and scored 25 goals.

After failing to qualify sat Sandhowe his career at Oberliga gone before he finished 1985.

Career as a coach

After Sandhowe 1986 had purchased at the Sports University in Cologne his football instructor's license, took him Hermann Gerland to the amateurs of VfL Bochum. 1987 Sandhowe Kotrainer Jupp, outfitted with Galatasaray. After returning from Turkey Sandhowe was more than ten years as a coach at various Oberliga and Regionalliga teams. By July 2007, he coached the Oberliga Hammer SpVg. After a long break, he returned in the spring of 2009 to the first FC Lok Stendal in the fifth division of Saxony-Anhalt back and coached the team until the end of the season 2009/10. He then took the second team of the 1st FC Magdeburg. In March 2011 he took over, initially until the end of season, the first team of the 1st FC Magdeburg, after his predecessor Ruud Kaiser had been on leave because of persistent failure. After he had reached with the FCM in the league, he received a one-year contract until 30 June 2012. According to an unsatisfactory start to the season with only one win in ten games he was released in October 2011 from his duties.
