Wolfgang Sauseng

Wolfgang Sauseng ( born July 6, 1956 in Graz) is an Austrian composer, organist and conductor.

Life

Wolfgang Sauseng completed his musical education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, which he with diplomas in Church Music ( with distinction and exit price ) in 1984 and successfully ended in orchestral conducting in 1979. Among his teachers were doing, inter alia, Anton Heiller, Erich Urbanner, Alfred Mitterhofer, Karl Austrians and Thomas Christian David. Already during his studies he held the position of organist at the Vienna Michael's Church, a position he held until 2008. In this context, he headed from 1979 transferred from St. Michael's Church TV productions ( Ash Wednesday, the artist ) and organized the annual International Organ Festival of St. Michael.

In 1982 he took on not only his teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, but was also accompanist for two years at the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra. From 1989 he had held in Salzburg at the Mozarteum University of full professor of music theory and composition Church until 1996, he was appointed full professor at the Institute for Organ, Organ Research and church music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

As an organist Sauseng concerted far in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and England. In addition, he took before radio and CD recordings. As part of his involvement with early music, he founded the vocal and instrumental ensemble Capella Archangeli, the completed international performances and beyond also working intensively on new church music.
