Wolfram Adalbert Scheffler

Wolfram Adalbert Scheffler ( born 1956 in Karl- Marx-Stadt ) is a German artist ( painter, draftsman ).

Scheffler is regarded as a loner, as " extraterritorial " with a penchant for anarchy, adaptation verweigernder living. He had in the early eighties with his artistic work and attitude great influence on both his and to a younger generation of artists in the GDR, which he left in 1986. He moved to West Berlin. Henceforth were Paris, Amsterdam and Biel stations. He lives mainly in Berlin.

In 2007 he received the Hans -Theo -Richter Prize of the Saxon Academy of Arts in Dresden.

2009/2010 he is "Art and cold war, German positions 1945-1989 " involved in organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art exhibition, which other stations are the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg and the German Historical Museum in Berlin.

Since 2012, Scheffler is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden.
