The wolf creek is a tributary of the orographic right Vilicher creek in Bonn, Sankt Augustin, North Rhine -Westphalia. It has a length of 3.5 km, its catchment area is 1.3 km ².

Course

The source pot of Wolf creek is located in the district of Holzlarer Gielgen within the 13 -hectare nature reserve " Wolfsbachtal ". From there, the water flows out in a northwesterly direction and enters after leaving the protection area, the city of Sankt Augustin, where it passes through the district Hangelar. In Hangelar the watercourse bends in southwestern direction, performs at around 700 meters to the main road 56 along and finally flows back on the Bonn area, at Pützchen - Bechlinghoven right side in the Vilicher Bach.

The wolf creek overcomes during its flow path a height difference of 87 meters, thus results in an average bed slope of 24.9 ‰.

Characteristics

Within the protected area of the Wolfsbachtals, the watercourse on a meandering and natural structure and allows the establishment there of rare plant communities. The water quality report for 2002 notes that water quality class II and thus only moderate load for this section. The lower reaches of the Wolf creek on the other hand is in a straightened and little natural state; in the field of B 56 leads the wolf creek channel-like through a concrete bed. The normal discharge rate of the water is 3-18 liters per second, but at high tide can be up to 1,024 l / s.
