Women's World Cup of Golf

The Women's World Cup of Golf was an annual professional golf tournament for women in national teams of two. Only one team was allowed to start per nation.

The event was to be held in 2008 in South Africa in 2005 and was limited to 22 teams who qualified on the basis of the world rankings or in preliminary rounds. The tournament was held in January or February at the start of the U.S. LPGA Tour instead.

The tournament was conducted over three days than stroke play over 18 holes each and consisted of:

  • Singles - the results of the two participants are added.
  • Foursomes - the two players of the team turns hitting the ball
  • Better Ball - the two players play in parallel, the result of the better player per hole goes in the standings.
