Woolwich foot tunnel

The Woolwich Foot Tunnel (English Woolwich foot tunnel ) is a tunnel under the River Thames in London. It connects North Woolwich in the London Borough of Newham on the north side of Woolwich in the district Royal Borough of Greenwich on the south side. The 504 -meter-long tunnel offers pedestrians an alternative way to get to the other side of the river when the Woolwich ferry is not in operation.

Was built in the tunnel on behalf of the London County Council, the opening took place in 1912. Similar in design -wise he is similar to the further upriver Greenwich Foot Tunnel. It has two entrance buildings with domes, one of which lead elevators and stairs, the elevators are in the evening and at night not in use.
