Words Get in the Way

Words Get in the Way is a song by Miami Sound Machine in 1986, which was written by Gloria Estefan. It appeared on the album Primitive Love.

History

After his release on 14 June 1986, the pop ballad in the United States was a great success, reaching the Billboard Hot 100 number 5, so that the song was the most successful single release from the album Primitive Love. Internationally, the song was not successful, however, and reached only in a few countries Top 20 rankings.

In contrast to previous publications, the group joined with Words Get in the Way their musical style instead of Latin American dance music the song contains features of a ballad, which are also reflected in later publications.

The group recorded the song later on in the Spanish-language version under the title No Me Vuelvo a enamorar. This version placed only in the Latin American charts, where it was also the first placement of the band. On the international pressings of Primitive Love and the Spanish version of the song was included. This version took Estefan on their Spanish compilation album Exitos de Gloria Estefan.
