World Championship of Online Poker

The World Championship of Online Poker ( WCOOP also ) is a series of poker tournaments that take place on the internet and are hosted by PokerStars.com since 2002, always in September.

2002, the first WCOOP was held in accordance to the World Series of Poker. Meanwhile, the WCOOP has become the largest online poker tournament series. As at the WSOP in Las Vegas, at least one tournament will be played in the WCOOP in every poker variant. In addition to the prize money the winner of a WCOOP tournament will get a 14 karat gold bracelet.

The 15 tournaments in 2005 had a total prize pool of $ 12,783,900. Thus, it was the biggest event on the Internet and in 2005 the third largest tournament series ever (live & online ).

The World Championship of Online Poker in 2007 will consist of 23 tournaments that will provide a total prize pool of more than 18 million U.S. dollars.
